What's included in a sprinkler start-up service:
-
System Pressurization: Turning on the main water supply slowly to prevent "water hammer," which can burst pipes or damage valves.

-
Backflow Inspection: A visual check of the backflow prevention device to ensure no cracks occurred over winter and that it effectively protects your drinking water.

-
Zone-by-Zone Testing: Manually running every zone to verify that all control valves and stations are operating correctly.

-
Head Adjustment & Cleaning: Clean nozzles and adjust the spray pattern (direction and distance) to ensure optimal coverage and prevent watering sidewalks or fences.

-
Leak Detection: Checking for underground leaks, broken risers, or cracked pipes that may have been caused by ground shifting or freezing.

-
Controller Programming: Setting the irrigation timer for a spring schedule, often tailored to local Idaho watering regulations and current weather patterns.

-
Repairs & Parts: Repairs and parts are not included in this service.
What's included in a sprinkler repair service:

-
Parts: Parts are not included in this service.
What's included in a sprinkler blowout service:
-
Water Supply Shut-Off: The technician locates and turns off the main irrigation water supply (often a valve below ground) to prevent new water from entering the system.

-
Zone-by-Zone Blowout: Using a high-volume, commercial-grade air compressor, the technician forces air through each sprinkler station individually until only a mist or "fog" is visible, ensuring all pipes and heads are cleared.

-
Backflow Preventer Winterization: Professionals will drain the backflow assembly and often leave the test ports and shut-off valves at a 45-degree angle to prevent remaining moisture from cracking the device.

-
Controller Adjustment: Technicians typically set your sprinkler controller to the "Off" or "Rain" setting for the duration of the winter.

-
Visual System Inspection: Many services include a quick walkthrough to flag any broken heads or leaks that will need repair during the spring startup.

-
Repairs & Parts: Repairs and parts are not included in this service.

What is NOT Included

-
Backflow Testing: While some companies offer this service, we typically don't perform backflow certifications unless pre-arranged.

-
Repairs: If the technician finds broken lines or valves during the blowout, they will typically provide a quote for the repair rather than fixing it on the spot unless pre-arranged.
What's included in a sprinkler zone & a drip zone install service:
Sprinkler Zone Install

-
Zone Valves & Solenoids: Each zone requires its own control valve to regulate water flow. These are typically housed in a protective underground valve box.

-
Piping & Trenching: High-density polyethylene (HDPE) or PVC piping is laid in trenches, often using a vibrating plow to minimize lawn damage.

-
Sprinkler Heads: Typically, a zone includes 5 to 10 heads (rotors or sprays), spaced to provide "head-to-head" coverage and eliminate dry spots.

-
Backflow Prevention: A critical safety device required by Idaho law to prevent irrigation water from contaminating your potable drinking water.

-
Wiring: Low-voltage electrical connections between the zone's solenoid and the central irrigation controller.

Services & Labor

-
Site Planning & Marking: Our professional installers have the property marked with flags and spray-painted lines to avoid existing utilities. We ensure this is done by calling 811.

-
System Testing: Post-installation pressure testing to check for leaks and fine-tuning head aim to avoid watering sidewalks or houses.

-
Warranty: 1-year warranty on parts and labor.

-
Parts: Parts are included in this service.

Local Considerations

-
Water Source: In areas like Nampa or Meridian, systems may need to connect to pressurized urban irrigation (NMID), which requires a specific pressure range (40–60 psi) and filtration.

Drip Zone Install

Drip Control Zone Kit: A combined assembly usually featuring:
-
Control Valve: A low-flow solenoid valve that opens and closes the zone.

-
Pressure Regulator: Reduces high municipal water pressure to a safe level (typically 20–30 PSI) to prevent tubing from bursting.

-
Filter: A mesh or screen filter to prevent sediment and minerals from clogging the small emitter orifices.

Water Distribution Network:
-
Main Line & Submains: Often made of PVC or heavy polyethylene tubing to transport water to the planting area.

-
Lateral Tubing: 1/2" or 1/4" UV-resistant polyethylene "spaghetti" tubing that runs near the plants.

-
Emitters/Drippers: Devices that release water at specific rates (e.g., 0.5 to 4 gallons per hour) directly at the root zone.

-
Site Assessment & Design: Evaluating soil type, plant water needs, and property layout to ensure uniform coverage.

-
Trenching & Excavation: Careful digging to lay pipes while minimizing disruption to existing landscaping.

-
Testing & Calibration: Flushing the lines to remove debris and testing for leaks before the final backfill.

-
Warranty: 1-year parts and labor warranty.

-
Parts: Parts are included in this service.
What's included in a sprinkler Main & Drain replacement service:
Core Components Included

-
Main Shut-Off Valve: Often a heavy-duty brass curb-stop valve that regulates the primary water flow from the supply line into the irrigation system.

-
Drain Valve: A valve used to empty the system for winterization, preventing freeze damage to the pipes.

-
Deep-Bury Piping: Replacement of the pipe sections connecting these valves, as they often corrode or break simultaneously with the valves.

-
Access Tubes: Protective sleeves or tubes extending from the valves to the surface for manual operation.

-
Warranty: 1-year parts and labor warranty.

-
Parts: Parts are included in this service.

Service Scope

-
System Testing: Ensuring the new valves hold pressure and the drain functions correctly to protect against Idaho's freezing winters.

What customers are saying:
Hailey B.
"I have worked with Anthony at Backflow and Sprinkler Service Pro multiple times now and think that he has a great company. He has had to fix problems caused by other sprinkler blow out "companies" in the past and has always done an excellent job. His repairs are fast and his prices are reasonable for the excellent work that he does. While it's slightly more expensive to hire Anthony for sprinkler blow outs and spring start ups, in particular, I recommend spending the extra money because the services will be done correctly every time. Now I don't have to worry about spring-time repairs to fix the work of others because Anthony did everything correctly in the fall. Such a great local business! I highly recommend it."
Meghan C.
"Anthony did a great job getting my sprinkler system up and running this spring. He showed up on time both times I've had him out to my home. The second time, he replaced several sprinkler nozzles at a reasonable price to improve the coverage area. The best part is I can book an appointment online, get an appointment confirmation, and Anthony shows up ON TIME! I will definitely be using his services again."
Jim S.
"Anthony takes care of us. He is always is showing up on time and gets the job done right. We were out of town last year and had the main zone our yard running for probably 8 hours till our neighbor watching the house called us. I contacted Anthony any he was over right away to fix a stuck valve. We did not need that issue to continue for days. Dependable!"
Judy B.
"In April, a large hose connected to the irrigation water system started having a big leak. I contacted the sprinkler service and Anthony came over at the end of that work day. He turned off the irrigation water and put a new cap on the end of the big hose. It stopped the big water leak before it could flood the back yard. Anthony also replaced one of the sprinkler heads in the front yard that had been damaged during the winter, probably during some snow shoveling. I plan to schedule an appointment every year to blowout the sprinklers and to turn the irrigation water on every spring."
